(UPDATE, 16.36) Liberation: a minority in Moldova wants reunification with Romania. Moldovan youngsters organizing the protests last week in the Republic of Moldova took a stand against the Communist rule and pleaded for a reunification with Romania, a country which shares their language and history, Liberation reads. (UPDATE, 16.13) Russian President, Dmitri Medvedev, supports V. Voronin and declares that the protests from Moldova have been anti constitutional. Also he qualified the Romanian flag hoiting on the presidency and parliament as - "monstrous".

(UPDATE, 12.20) Financial Times/Hotnews.ro: EU has no choice but to accept Romania's citizenship policy. The European Union has to face situations in which certain states abuse their sovereignty and act in their own interest, British daily Financial Times reads, referring to Romania's decision to accelerate the citizenship process for one million Moldovans. (UPDATE, 12.09) Baroness Emma Nicholson calls on Moldovan Government to improve treatment of protestors in custody. The declaration was made previous day.
“I am deeply saddened and dismayed that yet another death of a person in police custody has been reported in Moldova following the electoral unrest. “The President must issue an urgent blanket instruction that all prisoners are treated according to international standards and make a special effort to bring prisoners to trial quickly. “It is essential that the Moldovan authorities honour the conventions and agreements they have signed supporting the values of the European Union, Council of Europe and United Nations.”

(UPDATE, 12.06) NDI deplores violence in Moldova and calls for dialogue to resolve disputes. NDI welcomes the procurator general’s announcement today that described as “groundless” charges that the Institute’s resident representative violated the terms of his residency in Moldova. NDI hopes that his status and that of NDI will be formalized as soon as possible.

(UPDATE, 12.01) CNN: Moldovan government attacking journalists, reporter says. Authorities began harassing journalists Thursday, when four journalists covering the arrests of protesters were attacked and their cameras destroyed. You cand see the detailed article here.

(UPDATE, 11.45) FINANCIAL TIMES: A senior official in Moldova's Communist party has admitted that opposition protesters have been subject to police brutality over the past week but said the officers in question should not be punished.

Marian Lupu, speaker of Moldova's parliament, said the amnesty from prosecution announced on Wednesday by Vladimir Voronin, Moldova's president, must apply to protesters who contested the Communists' election victory two weeks ago as well as to the police who beat them in holding cells.

16th of April - the 3rd body of a young man killed after being beaten hard was discovered

(UPDATE, 20.00) The body of the 3rd dead young man was discovered. The body was brought to the parents in a sealed coffin by police. The authorities said that the coffin should not the opened because the body is decomposed.
The name of the young man is Eugen Tapu, 26, being original from north of Moldova, Soroca city. Tomorrow, the body should be buried.
There was no autopsy of the body for identifying why did the young man die."The body is decomposed and there is no why we can find this", say the authorities.
Police brought the body at home, gave the death certificate to the parents and left without saying anything. Boy's parents say that they've seen the body before being sealed in the coffin: "He had signs on the body of physical violence", declared the parents for the press.

(UPDATE, 14.00) Alex Grigorievs, director of NDI is to be expeled from Moldova because of not having a legal document that confirms his stay in Moldova. Grigorievs declared that since 2008, the authorities of Moldova didn't want to prolong his documents.

(UPDATE, 9.00) Iurie Craciuneac is one of the young people agressed and beaten by police after the protests from April 7. You can watch here his story (in Romanian), where he is telling how a group of 15-20 police man are torturating the young people in an underground building belonging to Police and Secret Services. "Death Tunnel" he calls the way where they were beaten like animals. Watch at the end of the video, what they've done to him.

13th of April - the 1st body of a killed man after the protests from April 7

(UPDATE, 9.00) The 1st body of a dead young man was discovered in Chisinau, after the police has beaten and arrested hundreds of protesters in Chisinau. His name is Valeriu Boboc. His family declared that he has died after being beaten hard by police after the protests from April 7. The authorities declare that he died intoxicated with smoke.

12th of April - Opposition common mitting

(UPDATE 13:50) Corina Fusu, vicepresident of Liberal Party, reads the final Resolution of the metting. They convinct police actions from last days and the Communist Goverment for manipulating public opinion by denigration opposition. Liberal Party, Liberal Democratic Partu and "Moldova Noastra" Alliance request release of all arrested people, stop the persecution, follow and expulsion of journalist, guarantee access of opposition to public media, and President Voronin should say sorry to parents and teachers he have insulted. The participants at the metting voted Rezolution.

(UPDATE 13:43) These was a small incident. A woman with an icon, came on the scena and started to cry. Organisators calm down the women. She left the scene.

(UPDATE 13:40) Andrei Popov, Foreign Policy Association: „These days, when I came home and watch the news at TV, i felt like somebody tries to lie me. I'm sure that officers from national army will not stay insensible because in front of the crowd on 7th of April, was bringen students from Police Academy. They do not have the necessary skills. Where have been the professional police-men? We will clarify these things"

(UPDATE 13:27) At this moment in PMAN are about 10 000 participants at the metting.

(UPDATE 13:14) Ion Hadarca, leader of Popular Movement at the end of 80's for obtaining our Liberty: "We have three leaders - Vlad, Dorin and Serafim". The crowd aplauded.

(UPDATE 13:10) Police have forbiden ProTV car to enter on main square. The car was redirected on Puskin street, lateral to Main Square.

(UPDATE 13:05) Igor Boţan, director of ADEPT NGO: „At 7th of April, president Voronin was taking care more of the imagine of Communist Party then the protection of Parliament and Presidency.”

(UPDATE 12:56) Dorin Chirtoacă, vicepresident of Liberal Party, stimulated the crowd to hold 1 minute of meditation for Valeriu Boboc, the young men of 23 years old that died after the police have beaten him. "Young people from Moldova are full of communism. They would like an european future. The international community is already informed about the crimes communist these days have done."

(UPDATE 12:36) Serafim Urechean, president of "Moldova Noastra" Alliance: „We have proofs that secret services were involved in organising the protests from 7th of April. We'll request the court-judge of the supreme commander of the army - Vladimir Voronin. I have the impression that Voronin had a meetting at "Doina" cemetery before ellections, because a lot of dead people voted on 5th of April."
UNIMEDIA mentions that "Doina" cemetery is the largest from Europe, and it is located in Chisinau.

(UPDATE 12:32) Vlad Filat, president of Liberal Democrat Party: „It's nor sufficient if will cry "Down for Communist". We analyse ellections lists and we'll presents proofs of violations from communist side. I was in front-rows on 7th of April, trying to stop participants throwing with stones. I saw there instigators, which instigated participants to vandalism actions.”

(UPDATE 12:26) Mihai Cimpoi, #2 on ellection list of "Moldova Noastra" Alliance, Writters Union president: „We, writters from Moldava, had sent a call to international community, in which we proved the fake of ellections from communist side.”

(UPDATE 12:09) Alexandru Tanase, prim-vicepresident of Liberal Democrat Party: „Communist burned Parliament and Presidency the way Hitler did the same thing with Bundestag, then accusing opposition. Instigators were guided by moldovian secret services. We want acces to police sections and penitentiaries, prisons to verify what is really happening there.”

(UPDATE 12:07) Corina Fusu, vicepresident of Liberal Party: „Unfortunatly, even foreign observators were blind on communist violations at the ellections. We have to presents proofs of the fake ellections to convince international community.”

(UPDATE 11:51) We added some photos from the event. Everything is peacefull.

(UPDATE 11:49) Corina Fusu, vicepresident of Liberal Party: „The governing party is managed by a ditactor. He beated our children. Communist Party wants to keep us in poverty. These days, we verify ellections lists. We already found many violations.”

(UPDATE 11:43) On the scene came 3 leaders of opposition parties - Mihai Ghimpul (Liberal Party president), Vlad Filat (Liberal Democrat Party president) and Serafim Urechean ("Moldova Noastra" Alliance president). They were applauded by the participants at the metting.

(UPDATE 11:41) The back of the Goverment Building are 5 firemen trucks and about 300-400 police-men in busses from regions - Orhei, Causeni...

(UPDATE 11:35) Organisators declared that police from the regions have intimidated bus owners, if they will transport participants at the protest in Chisinau, the busses will be confiscated.

(UPDATE 11:26) At this moment in PMAN there are about 4000 partipants at the protests. In speakers plays music of the couple Doina and Ion Teodorovici (famous singers died in an accident at the begging of 90's). Participants are on both sides of Stefan cel Mare blv, transportation is at the normal level.

(UPDATE 11:19) Organisators - opposition parties - declared that some buses with protesters from regions was stopped in their way to Chisinau (Causeni, Ialoveni, Stefan-Voda), also the entrece in Chisinau is blocked for buses with protesters.

(UPDATE 11:15) Between participants at the protest and Goverment Building are only two police-men. In the back of the Goverment - hundreds.

(UPDATE 11:12) At this moment in PMAN there are about 2000 participants at the metting. About 50 persons have white mufflers, which represents the organisers. They will take care of the pacifist organisation of the event.

(UPDATE 10:02) The first victim of police violences is already known - Valeriu Boboc. An young man (23 years old) died after he was beaten by police, declared familly of the victim.

PMAN was calm. Nobody, nothing was really happing. It seems everybody was afraid even to talk about the protest.

10th of April - Journalist attack

After journalist wrote about the misterious presens of police on the roof of Parliament, attacks were directionated to journalist. In this day, a lot of journalist were expeld, arrested, questionated, other ones from Europa could not enter Moldova. The only journalists could have free access to Moldova, were journalist from Russia. They did not have any problem at customs.

9th of April - Crowd guide

On 9th of April appear first proofs of Police involvement in the protest. There are a lot of questions that do not have any answer yet. Why the police was on the roof when some participants at the protest hanged EU and Romanian Flag? Why the police could not defead Parliament and Presidency, there was to less police-men at the protest? Who were instigators and who guided them?

8th of April - Arrests

President Voronin said at the public television that they have recorded everyone who participated at protest and everybody will be punished. This day can be described as the "arrest day". Young people, in bus stations, at schools and universities have been kidnapped by people in civil uniform, and went in unknown direction.

7th of April - Fights

This day started with a lot of paticipants in from of Goverment Building (Main Scuare of Chisinau, PMAN). It seems to be o peacefull protestet. At 11:00 am, the crowd went in front of Parliament and Presidency.
It seems that a lot if instigators have been included near participants. The things went under controll, so a fight between crowd and police-men was imminent.

6th of April - Flash-Mob

A group of young people with activity in civil society have organised a Flash-Mob. It was planned that the participants will fire a candle as a symbol to the die of communist power, as the communist party have made a lot of violations at ellections. The Flash-Mob was organised only for a small period of time. The organisers of the Flash-Mob planned a maximum 500 participants, as the message was transmited by internet, sms.
